Today’s Local Tip: The best camping spots: Blakeley’s Anchorage

“Located about halfway down North Stradbroke island on the mainland side, Blakley’s anchorage is one of my favourite weekend camping spots. The site is only accessible by boat, which means is not too over-populated. There is a 50 metre shelf that then drops off into the channel, so you’ll need to plan your landing for high tide. The shelf makes a great spot to have a bit of a fish or drop some crab pots. The site has very limited facilities, so pack everything you need! Make sure to look after the environment — there are bins provided. Also, during the winter, you are allowed to have fires.” – Luke from Adventure Shack
